Time to Degree Completion

There is a time limit for completing degree requirements:

  • Master's students: Must complete within four years (8 semesters, not including summer).
  • Psy.D. students: Must complete within five years (10 semesters, not including summer).
  • Ph.D. students: Must complete within eight years (16 semester, not including summer).
  • Graduate Certificate students: Must complete within three years (6 semesters, not including summer).

Students who have exceeded their CCAS program time limit must submit an Extension Request in order to remain in the program. Requests for an extension on the completion of your degree requirements must include a detailed timeline for completion and must be approved by your DGS and the Associate Dean. If your extension request is not approved, your degree candidacy will be terminated.
