The 2024 Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS) Graduate Open House is the perfect opportunity to learn more about graduate study at GW and the 90+ graduate degree and certificate programs within CCAS. You will also have a chance to engage with current GW graduate students, faculty and our admissions team, who will be available to answer your questions, guide you through the application process and tell you about the resources GW has to offer.

This two-week series is designed to be custom-tailored to your interests. Feel free to attend one session — or all of them! Once you register, you will have access to all events in the series, allowing you to select the best fit for your schedule.

Bonus: Application Fee Waiver

Application fee waiver available to all attendees who apply to a CCAS graduate program and submit a complete application by the program deadline. Please refer to the GW Bulletin's graduate program finder to view all program deadlines.


Event Schedule

Each day we will offer specialized webinars on various admissions topics in addition to program-specific information sessions run by faculty members. Each event is structured as a 15–30 minute information session followed by a Q&A to answer questions about graduate programs and the admissions process to GW's Columbian College of Arts and Sciences.

At the end of Open House, you can connect with our admissions staff and ask questions in a special online chat.

Considering a PhD program? Join our webinar to hear GW faculty share tips on crafting a successful application, including writing a strong statement of purpose, securing letters of recommendation, and managing timelines. Panelists include Prof. Keryn Gedan, Prof. Michelle Stock, and Prof. David Mitchell, with moderation by Chad Heap, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies.

Hear first-hand from some of our distinguished CCAS faculty members who will speak on topics such as the classroom experience, what makes a graduate education from GW unique and what makes a competitive applicant. Advanced registration required.

Admissions representatives will be onsite starting at noon to answer any preliminary questions.

Campus Tour | 2:00 p.m. (location: University Student Center)
We will be providing campus tours exclusively for CCAS prospective graduate students. Tours will leave from the University Student Center (800 21st St NW, Washington, DC 20052). Our registration/check-in table will be located on first floor of the Great Hall (just outside the Admissions Welcome Center). Advanced registration required.
