Chad Bowman (Media & Public Affairs) co-authored the new edition of a media law treatise, “Newsgathering and the Law” (LexisNexis).

Douglas Boyce (Music) released his third portrait album, The Bird is an Alphabet (New Focus Recordings).

Lori Brainard (Public Policy and Public Administration) was named a commissioner of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration.

Sache Cantu, MPA ’06, (Public Administration) was promoted to chief operating officer at the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation.

Adam Dean (Political Science) was named one of the principal investigators on a WorkRise project investigating whether unionization at hospitals and nursing homes contributes to better wages and working conditions, and whether those gains are especially strong for Black workers in health care settings.

Michael Doering (Physics) received a $360,000 award from the National Science Foundation to use the numerical techniques known as lattice QCD to study the interaction of particle physics.

Edward Green, BA ’67, (Anthropology) published his memoir, On the Fringe: Confessions of a Maverick Anthropologist (Black Rose Writing, 2023).

Chryssa Kouveliotou (Physics), a Shaw Prize recipient, was named one of the top female scientists in the world by Research.com.

Graduate student Bosco Yeung (Political Science) published the article, “How Ethnic Origin Shapes Political Preferences: Toward a Deeper Understanding of Asian American Identity” in The Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics.
