Lunar New Year Lion Dance Celebration
We will be organizing the Lunar New Year Celebration for the GW community on January 18, 12pm (ET), at Kogan Plaza. The Lion Dance starts at 12pm by the Choy Wun Dance Troupe, and we will be providing red pockets to interact with and feed the lions. Asian-inspired snacks will be offered to enjoy while they last. This event was made possible by CCAS Global Initiatives, GW Asian American Student Association, GW Chinese American Student Association, GW Chinese Center for Arts & Humanities, GW Chinese Students and Scholars Association, GW Desis and GW Vietnamese Student Association. Some of our co-sponsoring student organizations will also be present for you to learn more about Asian culture and community at GW.
Attendees are highly encouraged to wear their traditional dress to celebrate this major Asian holiday.
This event is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will move to the Student Center Colombian Square (1st floor, 800 21st Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20052.)
