The Student Services Team is located in Smith 118. Our office will be open during normal business hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Student Services team is here to support you and will continue to be dedicated to providing you guidance and serve as a resource to help you navigate university policies and procedures. Students may schedule a virtual, phone, or in-person appointment with your coordinator in addition to appointments related to Career Services.

Graduate Student Appreciation Week
The Office of Graduate Studies is excited to celebrate Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) from April 4-8, 2022. Launched in 1993 by the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students, GSAW serves to support and acknowledge graduate and professional students. The week recognizes the contributions, impact, and value of graduate and professional students on campuses throughout the United States. CCAS will be celebrating the week with a variety of events, prizes, acknowledgments, and shout-outs! The full schedule of events and student shout-outs are now available on the Graduate Student Appreciation Week page. We hope to see you at an event! Make to stop by Smith 118 any day during GSAW to pick up SWAG!

Notice for New Students Admitted in Spring 2022
If you started your program of study in the Spring 2022 semester, please make sure that you have turned in all official documents and transcripts required as part of the admissions process. Students who are still missing documents will have a hold placed on their account and will not be able to register for the Fall 2022 semester until those documents are submitted.
Fall Registration
Registration opens on April 14th at 9:00 AM for all degree-seeking graduate students. All CCAS graduate students are required to register continuously each fall and spring semester until the completion of their program. For instructions on how to register, please refer to the Office of the Registrar’s website.
Choosing Between RTF & RTF-EZ
In most instances, students will be able to register online through GWeb. In some cases, a paper registration form is required. If paper registration is required, there are two different registration forms, the RTF and RTF-EZ. Refer to our Class Registration page for examples of when you should use the RTF and when you need to use the RTF-EZ.

2022 Commencement Week Celebrations
For those graduating in Spring 2022, we invite you to mark your calendars for the following CCAS and GW Commencement Week events:

Individual programs will also be holding celebration events. Graduating students should check their email for information regarding registering for all Commencement Week events.

Student Worker Positions for Commencement Week 2022
Commencement Week 2022, May 12-15, will be an exciting time for the entire GW community. We are thrilled to celebrate the Class of 2022. Students who are not graduating can join the celebration and become part of this important university tradition by applying to work during Commencement Week. We need your help to make this celebration special for our graduates and their families.
How can you participate? You may:
- greet guests,
- assist with seating,
- manage crowd control,
- or perform other responsibilities as assigned.
You will be an integral part of making Commencement Week an #OnlyAtGW moment for the more than 20,000 people expected to attend. Interested students must apply by April 6. We hope you will consider joining the Commencement Team for these special events.
Paid Media, Communications, and Museum Studies Internships
Hispanic Access Foundation’s MANO Project is offering enriching internship experiences nationwide for Latinx and POC college students and upcoming professionals with strengths in archiving, cartography, collections management, communications, geography, museum studies, and public policy.

Marketing Week 2022
The AMA (American Marketing Association) at GW will be hosting its first-ever Marketing Week on campus between April 4th and April 8th. Join AMA for keynote speakers, free headshots, and workshops.
Through My Lens Photo Contest Showcase
The International Services Office invites you to celebrate our international community through photography at the Through My Lens Photo Contest Showcase. The event will take place on April 19th at 1:00 PM at the Textile Museum. RSVP here.
Call for Manuscripts - Washington History Magazine
Washington History is now accepting submissions. The richly illustrated, semiannual, refereed magazine publishes articles on the history of the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area for an audience of scholars, students, and the general public. Submissions are accepted at any time on a rolling basis. To learn more, review the submission guidelines (PDF).
The magazine accepts several different kinds of manuscripts, including thesis-driven analyses; descriptive articles on previously unpublished information; first-hand accounts or reminiscences of events or figures in Washington history; and picture essays based on photographs, works of art, architecture, artifacts, or illustrations. All full-length manuscripts must be accompanied by at least eight suggested illustrations to help readers connect with the research and stories presented.

Funding Opportunities
National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities Announce Grant Awards
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced grants to 1,498 institutions totaling $33.2 million and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has announced grants to 208 projects totaling $24.7 million for Fiscal Year 2022. NEA awarded grants can be found here and NEH grants here.
James Buchanan Fellowship
The Mercatus Center's James Buchanan Fellowship is awarded to scholars in any discipline who have recently graduated from their doctoral programs. The aim of this fellowship is to encourage early-career scholars to critically engage ideas in the political economy of Adam Smith and the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy. Fellows spend two weekends in residence at George Mason University (Fairfax, VA) and three virtual colloquia during the calendar year participating in discussions on mainline political economy. Don Lavoie Fellowship
Don Lavoie Fellows attend a series of online activities, including an online discussion portal and online reading discussion sessions led by various Hayek Program scholars. These sessions introduce them to key ideas in the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy, as well as contemporary work in this tradition. It is a total award of up to $1,250 for the semester. More information can be found here. Deadline: April 15, 2022
Bryce Harlow Fellowship
Fellowships are awarded to individuals working full-time, attending graduate school part-time and who anticipate having careers in the field of government relations, lobbying or advocacy. Recipients receive $8,000 ($4,000 per semester), mentoring opportunities, and access to seminars and other educational activities. More information can be found here. Deadline: April 29, 2022
