Hi! My name is Matteo Bucalossi and I am a second year international student in the Data Science program. I earned a BA in Philosophy in Italy, a MA in Security Studies from Georgetown, and I worked at the intersection of data analysis and international development before committing to Python coding full-time. I am passionate about language and technology, and I am a Teaching Assistant for Natural Language Processing here at GW. On the side, I have an obsession with the underwater and underground worlds, being myself an avid cave diver and caver. When I stay local on the weekends, I enjoy rock climbing or hiking around the many parks easily accessible from DC.

"When looking to break into the Data Science industry without an engineering background, GW offered the best state-of-the-art program in terms of coursework and topics. The diversity within CCAS also granted a smooth transition into the field, and the hands-on professors introduced me to subjects from ground concepts to the highest level of research within the data science community."
