Dean's Graduate Instructorship Info Session

Thu, 7 December, 2023 12:00pm - 1:00pm

In this info session, Chad Heap, CCAS Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, and Rachel Riedner, CCAS Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, will discuss the application process and requirements for the CCAS Dean's Graduate Instructorship (DGI). After their presentation, there will be a Q&A session for interested students to get answers to any questions about the DGI application process.

The DGI provides exceptional Ph.D. candidates with an opportunity to design and teach their own undergraduate courses, while obtaining financial support for their dissertation research. Drawing upon their own research expertise, awardees design and teach a Dean’s Seminar, a course designed to provide first-year CCAS students with opportunities to engage in lively discussions on topics relevant to the issues of our time. Proposals for these courses must fulfill the criteria for GPAC designation in at least one area. Recipients will receive the standard CCAS graduate assistant salary and stipend as well as required tuition for the semester (up to 9 credits). Please see this page for full details on eligibility and the application process for the DGI.
