DegreeMAP

DegreeMAP, the University’s advising tool, maps out each student’s degree program requirements and completion status, and should be used to track your program. DegreeMAP outlines all course and non-course requirements, such as comprehensive examinations, required for your program.

DegreeMAP is accessed via GWeb. Students and advisors are strongly encouraged to consult DegreeMAP each semester to ensure degree program requirements are being met. Occasionally, course substitutions (petitions) are needed to update your DegreeMAP record. Only your Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) can submit these petitions. In order to be cleared for graduation, your DegreeMAP must reflect 100% completion.

If you find errors in your DegreeMAP, or if courses are not displaying under the degree requirements, please contact your Director of Graduate Studies (DGS).

DegreeMAP Sections

Degree Requirements

The Degree Requirements section will normally list all of the non-course degree requirements for your program. These requirements will be marked complete as you complete them. All requirements must be completed before your degree will indicate complete. Some examples include General Exam (for Ph.D. programs) and EAP requirements (for students who require EAP). It will also show if you are meeting the minimum program GPA requirements.

Academic Year: The Bulletin year in which your program requirements fall under. This is normally the year you were admitted.
GPA: This GPA calculation includes all courses that are in your DegreeMAP, including those that are in Fall Through.
Credits Required: The number of credits required for the degree program.
Credits Applied: The number of credits that are currently being applied to your degree program.

Program Requirements

The Program Requirements section will list all the curricular requirements for your program. These requirements will be marked complete as you complete them. All requirements must be completed before your degree will indicate complete.

Academic Year: The Bulletin year in which your program requirements fall under. This is normally the year you were admitted.
GPA: This GPA calculation includes all courses that are part of your degree program. It DOES NOT include any courses that are in Fall Through and is considered your official program GPA. CCAS uses your Program Requirements GPA to determine your academic standing.
Credits Required: The number of credits required to complete the Program.
Credits Applied: The number of credits that are currently being applied to your Program Requirements.

Fall Through General Electives Courses

Courses will appear under Fall Through if they are not being applied to the Program Requirements. These courses are not considered as part of your degree program and do not count towards your Program GPA. Only your DGS may petition to apply courses in Fall Through to your program's requirements.

In-progress

This section will show any courses that are currently in-progress (without a final grade).

Not Counted

Courses that do not count towards your degree will appear under not counted. Courses such as Continuing Research, Continuous Enrollment and the Graduate teaching Assistant Certification will appear under Not Counted.
