Madison Brumbaugh (Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences) received a Fulbright Specialist Program award from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board to provide instruction to local autism specialists through the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University.

Leah Brooks (TSPPPA) was awarded a $115,422 grant by Arnold Ventures LLC for work on “Documenting the Rise of Citizen Voice and Testing for its Impacts.” She also spoke at the Anacostia Business Improvement District’s 2026 Arts & Economic Impact Summit.

Malena Brookshire, MPA ’05, (TSPPPA) published the article “From Gatekeeper to Bridge Builder: How the Tech-Fluent CFO Drives Strategic Impact” in the spring 2026 issue of the Association of Government Accountants’ Journal of Government Financial Management.

Rachel Emas (TSPPPA) presented her content analysis, "Designing for Inclusion: Universal Design for Learning as a Strategy to Strengthen Public Administration Education,” at the 25th Annual Social Equity Leadership Conference.

Leon Grayfer (Biology) received a $1,199,309 award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to study how amphibian microbiome-immune interactions affect greater antifungal defenses.

Anna Jayne Kimmel (Dance) co-authored “Performing Law: Actors, Affects, Spaces” in Law, Culture, and the Humanities.

Aman Luthra (Geography) received a $71,709 NSF grant for a project titled “Biocultural Heritage in Arctic Cities: Resource for Climate Adaptation?”

Lauren Pincus (Chemistry) was awarded a $550,002 NSF grant for research on determining the environmental controls of plastic photodegradation mechanisms.

Daniele Podini (Forensic Science) received a $101,000 grant from the Department of Justice/FBI for work on the DNA RepHair project, which involves studying the enzymatic repair of human hair shaft DNA.

Eva Price, BA ’00, (Political Communication) won a Tony Award as co-producer of the Broadway show Liberation along with fellow alumna Jenna Segal, BA ’98.

Nikolay Shiklomanov (Geography) received a $46,060 NSF grant for research on resilience and sustainability in the Arctic.

Eda Sonbas (Physics) was awarded a $79,999 grant from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for an archival study of X-ray lags in the neutron star LMXBs.

Takae Tsujioka (East Asian Language and Literature) received a $20,000 grant from the Japan-US Friendship Commission to support J.LIVE Talk 2026.

Gregory Wallace (Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences) was awarded a $69,872 grant by the Eagles Autism Challenge for assessments in autism with intellectual disability.

Linyi Zhang (Biology) received a $10,000 award from the Michigan Blueberry Commission for work on developing models for the blueberry stem gall-wasp to improve pest management in Michigan.
