The GW Society of Physics Students was recognized as a 2019-2020 Outstanding Chapter by the SPS National Council.

Masha Belenky (French) published the book Popular Literature from Nineteenth-Century France: French Text (Modern Language Association, 2020).

Barry R. Chiswick (Economics) authored the book Jews at Work (Springer International Publishing, 2020).

Catherine Forster (Biology) had a fossil bird from Cretaceous deposits in Madagascar named for her, Falcatekely forsterae.

Valentina Harizanov (Mathematics) was profiled in the Fall 2020 Emissary from the University of California, Berkeley, and co-authored the journal’s article, “Hilbert’s Tenth Problem.”

Harris Mylonas (Political Science) published the essay “The Determinants of Successful Nation-building: Macro-sociological Political Modernization and Political Alliance Structures” in Nationalities Papers. He was also featured in an interview with Academic Influence.

George Younes (Physics) received a $40,765 grant from the NASA Shared Services Center to study magnetars.
