Alexandra Monan

Hello! My name is Alexandra Monan and I am a graduate student in the Forensic Psychology M.A. program at the George Washington University. I grew up in a small city on the east side of Michigan and moved to the west side of Michigan, Grand Rapids for my undergraduate degree. I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Throughout my undergraduate career I worked at the Grand Rapids Police Department as an intern and at the Children’s Advocacy Center for a forensic interviewer. The experiences throughout my undergraduate schooling helped me to learn what my aspirations and goals are for my future career. After obtaining my Forensic Psychology M.A., my goal is to work in a government or law enforcement agency. After touring GW and learning all that the university and the DC area had to offer, I quickly realized that George Washington University was best aligned with my intentions and goals for the future.

"The George Washington University could not have been a better choice for graduate school. The location brings a city environment, but GW allows for smaller connections to be made. The D.C. area has so many opportunities to offer, that will allow me to further my networking and career options."
