Program Details

The Columbian College of Arts & Sciences is proud to be the sole sponsor of a multi-year project to develop an interactive mapping tool that identifies, describes and displays archival and digital collections related to Chinese Studies in North America, China and beyond.

Thanks to the dedicated work from the Principal Investigator, Dr. Yan He, China Documentation Center Librarian from Libraries and Academic Innovation, and Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Ann James, from the GW Gelman Library, the open-access tool uses geospatial data to help researchers locate collections to support their work in Chinese studies. Students and scholars can use the interactive mapping tool to easily navigate primary sources, unique materials and archival collections around the world.
