Akos Vertes’ biochemistry invention allows quick analysis of biological samples. The LAESI-DP 1000 Direct Ionization System, a commercial product based on an invention made at GW by Professor Akos Vertes and his research group, has received a 2012 R&D 100 Award, ranking it as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced in the past year. The yearly rankings are compiled by R&D Magazine.
