Hon. Andrew L. Dixon, III is originally from the Boston area. He holds both a Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University’s Ben Crump College of Law in Miami Gardens, FL and a B.A. in Political Science from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. 

In August 2023, Judge Dixon was appointed to his current position as the Hearing Office Chief Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration’s Tallahassee Hearing Office. He has since been appointed Acting Chief Judge for the Greenville, SC Hearing Office effective, January 2025. He has served as an ALJ since 2010 during which time, he twice served as Acting Chief Judge.

 Judge Dixon holds membership in the National Bar Association’s Judicial Council and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., having most recently served a two-year term as President of the Gamma Lambda Chapter in Tallahassee. He is the Chair of George Washington University’s 8 National Council of Arts and Sciences, is a past member of the GW Alumni Association Board of Directors as well as the GW Black Alumni Association, having founded its S. Florida Regional Chapter. He serves as Chair of the Pastoral Council of the St. Eugene Catholic Mission and Student Center, Assistant Director of the St. Eugene Gospel Choir and has taught Religion Education classes since 2013.

 His wife, Gecelyne, is also an attorney and together they have three daughters, Katrina, Cecilia and Jerline.
