Hello, I am Kirstyn McLeod, a new student in the Forensic Psychology Program on the Alexandria Campus. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland and I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina A&T State University in May 2019. Ultimately my goal is to continue on to get my PhD and work as a prison psychologist and work on prison reform in reference to solitary confinement.. I chose GW because after being away for 3 years I thought it would be nice to come a little closer to home, and it seemed like a great location for my career aspirations.

When I’m not in class some of my favorite things to do are read a good book, and go coffee shop hopping with my friends. So far my favorite spot to visit in DC is ‘A Baked Joint’, and I’m currently finishing up Becoming by Michelle

"I chose GW because of the size of the program, I knew that I would be able to get a very personalized experience and prepare me for a career in my field. My professors have all had real world experience in reference to what they’re teaching in class, and are able to give valuable knowledge that couldn’t be found solely in a textbook."
