During Commencement Weekend, Columbian College holds separate Celebration ceremonies to honor our undergraduate and graduate students. 

 

 


Celebration Details 

Undergraduate and Associate Degree Candidates

Event Details

  • Saturday, May 18, 2019
  • Smith Center (600 22nd Street NW)
  • Graduates MUST line up in Funger Hall (2201 G Street NW) 45 minutes before their Celebration program is set to begin.

Ticket Information

  • Each graduate will receive 6 tickets to the Smith Center for guests. Graduates can request up to four additional tickets online. Overflow seating in other venues featuring a live video feed will be available for guests without tickets. Please contact [email protected] with any Celebration questions.
  • Tickets will be distributed in District House, B114 on:
    • Wednesday, May 15, 12-7 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 16, 12-4 p.m.
    • Friday, May 17, 12-4 p.m.
  • Please allow time to pick up your tickets and to show your graduation survey confirmation receipt, as there may be a line.
  • If graduates are unavailable to pick up tickets during the distribution times listed above, they can pick them up on Saturday, May 18 th from 8:30 – 10 AM by requesting Alternative Ticket Pick Up by clicking here. (Location: Phillips 107).
  • Tickets will be distributed to graduates ONLY. Please bring your GWorld card.
  • Each program has its own tickets—they are not interchangeable.
  • Double majors: You may only participate in ONE ceremony.
  • Tickets remaining after the ticket pick-up dates will be distributed on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis in Phillips Hall, 107. Graduates can send a representative to pick up any remaining tickets.

The CCAS Master’s Celebration Ceremony

Event Details

  • Friday, May 17, 2019 at 8:30am, Smith Center (600 22nd Street NW)
  • Program begins promptly at 8:30am.
  • Graduates MUST line-up in Funger Hall (2201 G Street NW) between 7:45am and 8:00am
  • Celebration for students receiving masters, master’s along the way, and MPhil

Ticket Information

  • Each graduate will receive 6 tickets to the Smith Center for guests. Overflow seating in other venues on campus featuring a live video feed and simultaneous webcast will be available for guests without tickets.
  • Tickets will be distributed in Smith Hall 118
    • Monday April 29, 9 am to 4:00 pm
    • Tuesday April 30, 9am -6pm
    • Wednesday May 1, 9am-4pm
    • Thursday May 2, 9am-6pm
    • Friday May 3, 9am-4pm.
    • Monday May 6, 9am-4pm
    • Tuesday May 7, 9am-6pm
    • Wednesday May 8, 9am-4pm
    • Thursday May 9, 9am-6pm

GW Grad Fair

Mark your calendar to attend the University Grad Fair, March 21 through March 23 to make your graduation celebration purchases and orders.

ADA Accommodation

ADA seating, closed captioning and American Sign Language interpreters will be available for this CCAS Ceremony and Commencement on the Mall. To place your request ahead of time, please email [email protected].

The CCAS Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

Event Details

  • Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 5:00 pm in Lisner Auditorium (730 21st  Street NW)
  • Graduates MUST line up in the lower level of Lisner Auditorium (730 21st St NW) between 4:00pm-4:30pm
  • Optional GROUP PHOTO : Graduates who wish to participate are asked to arrive at 3:30pm
  • A Reception for all attendees will begin immediately following the ceremony at 6:00pm in Lisner Auditorium

Ticket Information

  • Each graduate will receive 13 guest tickets.
  • Additional ticketing information will be provided to graduates upon RSVP
  • A live video feed and simultaneous webcast will be available for guests without tickets.

Doctoral Regalia Rental Information

Academic Regalia is required.  Please visit GW Commencement for information on purchasing or renting your regalia.
