DegreeMAP

DegreeMAP is GW’s online advising tool for use by students and their advisors to track progress toward degree completion. DegreeMAP provides more information about degree requirements earlier in students' academic careers and gives students a tool to monitor and track progress toward their degrees.

DegreeMAP is comprehensive, collaborative, and transformative

  • Comprehensive in that all undergraduate degree programs are included, and all degree requirements within a program are represented.
  • Collaborative in that it allows for different types of conversations to take place between a student and his or her advisor as they work together to create the course plan to achieve the student’s goals.
  • Transformative in that having more information changes the way students approach meetings with their advisors, the way the students approach registration periods, and the way advisors approach their interactions with their students.

Benefits of Using DegreeMAP

  • Make better use of your time with your advisor
  • Reduce confusion about degree requirements
  • Keep better track of your progress toward degree
