DegreeMAP
DegreeMAP is GW’s online advising tool for use by students and their advisors to track progress toward degree completion. DegreeMAP is being implemented with the students’ interests in mind, to provide more information about degree requirements earlier in their academic careers, and to give students a tool to monitor and track progress toward their degree.
DegreeMAP will be comprehensive, collaborative, and transformative:
- Comprehensive in that all undergraduate degree programs will be included, and all degree requirements within a program will be represented.
- Collaborative in that it will allow for different types of conversations to take place between a student and his or her advisor as they work together to create the course plan to achieve the student’s goal.
- Transformative in that having more information will change the way students approach meetings with their advisors, the way the students approach registration periods, and the way advisors approach their interactions with their students.
