The Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration (TSPPPA) in CCAS is a focal point for public affairs education, research, and public service at The George Washington University.

The TSPPPA academic programs stress critical thinking and analysis and the interplay of research, theory, skills, and real-world application. The master's programs provide education and training that prepare students for opportunities in a wide variety of positions-in federal, state, and local governments, private business, research institutes, think tanks, nonprofit organizations, community advocacy groups, foundations, professional and trade associations, etc. The PhD program also prepares students with the research skills, knowledge, and background for those who wish to pursue an academic career or a career at the senior levels of research institutes.

The public policy and public administration degree programs welcome both full-time and part-time students. Most classes are offered in the late afternoons or evenings to meet the needs of part-time as well as full-time students. Financial aid is available on a competitive basis for full-time students. Research assistantships and paid internships or part-time employment at Washington area organizations are possible to arrange.

Related Master's programs are also offered with concentrations in Environmental and Resource Policy, Philosophy and Social Policy, and Women's Studies.
